Voter Initiative: “Outreach at the Beach”
Broward County, FL. (July 21, 2016) – The Broward County Supervisor of Elections’ office launched its “Outreach at the Beach” campaign on June 25th, when staff began visiting Broward County beaches. This weekend is the fourth of a five- stop voter education tour to be conducted throughout the month of July.
Election staff will be canvassing the beach wearing red “Register to Vote” t-shirts, encouraging beachgoers to register, update their voter status, and to make any necessary updates to their voter records.
Voters will be reminded that the last date to register to vote is August 1, 2016. Name changes, and changes in party affiliation must be made on, or before the August 1st deadline to ensure that the information is current for voting in the August 30th Primary election.
The Election Connection mobile unit will also be in Fort Lauderdale Beach this weekend at the corner of A1A and Las Olas Blvd., in the Oceanside parking lot.
