Early Voting Will End on Sunday, August 28, 2016

(Broward County)— This a reminder to Broward County voters that Early Voting will be open 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m every day until Sunday, August 28th, 2016.  Due to the potential of an impending storm, which could impact the Early Voting and Election Day schedules, voters are encouraged to take advantage of the Early Voting schedule.

According to the Secretary of State, it is still too premature to determine if the voters will be impacted by the adverse weather.  If it is necessary to suspend voting, the order usually comes from the Governor’s Office.  The Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office will continue to monitor the progress of the storm and will use that to guide us going forward.  Voters are encouraged to take advantage of Early Voting while the weather is not inclement.

The office will inform the public via press releases to the media regarding any changes.  Broward County voters are also invited to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and our website for updates and information regarding changes to the election:

Be on the Lookout for Your Sample Ballot

Broward County, Florida (July 21, 2016) Revised-Broward County voter households should be on the lookout for a generic Primary Election Sample Ballot arriving in the mail between August 1-5, 2016. The Sample Ballot contains the candidates for the Primary Election and important election information that will help the voter prepare to vote.  Please note that one Sample Ballot will be sent per household, unless all voters in the household requested a vote-by-mail ballot.

For this upcoming August 30th election, please remember that Florida is a closed primary state and only voters with a major party affiliation are eligible to vote in a primary when electing that party’s nominee for the general election. All voters, regardless of affiliation, may vote for nonpartisan races and issues such as: judicial and School Board candidates.

Please cross-reference the sample ballot with your voter information card to identify your precinct’s assigned congressional, legislative, county commission and school board district numbers on the ballot in the upcoming election since some numbers may have changed.

Voters can get a personalized sample ballot on the web at: www.browardsoe.org by clicking on “voter information” located on the main page, and then clicking on “sample ballot lookup.”
