Broward Elections’ Office Kicks Off Voter Registration Drive At Assisted Living Facilities

Broward County, FL (October 30, 2015) –Beginning November 2, assisted living facility residents as well as electors residing at nursing homes and independent living facilities will have the opportunity to register to vote, update their voter registration, make party changes, and request a vote-by-mail ballot.  The Broward County Supervisor of Elections’ Office voting team will be visiting over 40 participating assisted living facilities over the next two weeks.

“We anticipate a high volume of voters at many of the facilities.  We want the residents to be prepared for the busy 2016 election cycle,” said Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, Broward’s Supervisor of Elections.

As dictated by Florida Statute 101.655, Florida’s Supervisors of Elections shall provide supervised voting to all participating facilities.  Supervised voting for the Presidential Preference Primary Election is scheduled for February 22 - March 4, 2016.
